The BeeMentor program, part of Binus University’s DLLC under the Faculty of Humanities, plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and collaborative academic environment. With current active member of 30 mentors spreading across Greater Jakarta, Bandung, and Malang, the BeeMentor initiative enables senior students to assist their freshmen peers, particularly focusing on language acquisition and academic success. Currently, there are 14 BeeMentors based in Greater Jakarta, 8 in Bandung, and 8 in Malang. These mentors serve as guides for students navigating their academic journeys, particularly in language learning programs such as Beelingua, a cornerstone of the university’s commitment to enhancing students’ language proficiency. These BeeMentors are trained to provide academic and emotional support, helping fellow students overcome challenges and succeed in their studies.
The BeeMentor program is closely tied to Beelingua, Binus University’s digital language learning platform. BeeMentors participate in and facilitate several key programs aimed at improving the language learning experience for all students, such as:
- Beelingua Completion Program – This program helps students who are enrolled in Beelingua to complete the language module as quickly and efficiently as possible. BeeMentors offer peer support to help students overcome obstacles and keep them motivated throughout their learning journey.
- Academic Experience – Focused on enhancing the academic journey of new students, this program supports newcomers to Binus University, providing a smooth transition and guidance through their first academic challenges.
- Week of Welcoming Binusian B28 – During this event, BeeMentors help new students accustom to university life, offering support in language learning and introducing them to academic resources and opportunities at Binus University.
- Binus Festival – As part of Binus University’s major events, BeeMentors take part in organizing and supporting various DLLC sub-events, including competitions and seminars that engage both current and prospective students in academic and extracurricular activities.
- Beelingua Corner / Beelingua on the Spot – These programs offer direct assistance to students who need extra support in Beelingua, providing personalized help to ensure that they stay on track with their language learning.
