BINUS BIPA Strengthens Experts in Language
BINUS BIPA reaffirmed its position as a one-stop solution for Indonesian language learning through the successful execution of its two-part Training of Trainers for the BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia Penutur Asing) program, themed Standar Kompetensi Pengajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (Competency Standards for Teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language) in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at the International Relations Laboratory, Kijang Campus, BINUS University.
The first session, held on September 27, was led by Prof. Emi Emilia, M.Ed., Ph.D., the Head of the Pusat Pengembangan Strategi dan Diplomasi Kebahasaan (Center for the Development of Language Strategy and Diplomacy). Prof. Emi shared her extensive expertise in language teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and strategies for teaching Bahasa Indonesia. Her session provided the trainers with a deep understanding of the pedagogical approaches and standards required to deliver effective BIPA programs worldwide.
The second training session, conducted on October 4, was presented by Dr. Iwa Lukmana, M.A., Chairman of the Pusat Penguatan dan Pemberdayaan Bahasa (Center for the Strengthening and Empowerment of Language). Dr. Iwa focused on the practical aspects of BIPA instruction, emphasizing the importance of cultural context and the application of innovative teaching techniques to make the language-learning experience more engaging and impactful. His session also covered strategies for empowering learners and enhancing the effectiveness of language acquisition in diverse educational settings.
